InsideOut

thought we can do a little thread about the TFK publisher and one of the most common and succesful prog (metal) labels.

here are some new releases :

Thought Chamber

from the new "Psykerion" album.

kind of retro, kind of 80s, kind of hard rock - but kind of fresh and true prog ;)
dont like the synth that much but the song arrangement and everything else is still good.
Just wonder how heavy the rest of the album is.

already listened to the new Haken?

dont miss JOLLY
one of insideOuts freshest acts at the moment.
They "use" binaural brain wave technology :)
Reminds a bit to Oceansize.

and another super fresh one - 4th wave metal

InsideOut is a very important label for prog genre.
anyway, it just covers only 30% of what is prog.
For humans sake there are all the great distributors and magazines with all its great editors and critics who provide us with all the fascinating news and new bands around the world. Thanks for that!!! This must be said sometimes!!
Without them, the world would be a lame place for some and the progress would be much slower!
(here you can just see how important the news, critic and the overall analog/digital word and communication is!!)

i think InsodeOut is getting a bit more "modern" with
The Safety Fire
Jolly

still sad they dont have that much jazz in their programm. They could do a little experimental corner somehow, an own divison maybe.

Sadly not any of these bands clicked for me. Haken has amazing technique, but I find them to be pretty bland after a while. Still better than new Dream Theater, but I don't think they could compete with something like the almighty 'Awake' :D 8-)

what about JOLLY and THE SAFETY FIRE??

those in exception, i can second your post!
But i havent heard much of em, even forgot what they sound like.

do you mean AWAKE the DT tribute band?

imho DT is not "able" to play such rhythms like the SAFETY FIRE does, they are too classic metal for this! ;)
but yes they are some kind of emo ... so this might restrict them in another way.
So JOLLY is pretty creative and they also play very good ... but maybe very mellow which could be a KLICK killer ;)

it goes in the direction of KINO, IZZ and OCEANSIZE ...
so it might be easy listening for more then 50% ;)

:D
dont you like Metropolis 2 more?? its my fave, together with Live at the Marquee, and i think DTs best output so far.
i like some stuff of AWAKE but somehow i dont like the sound of the album and there is less melody in there i think.

how can you top this??

this was the final drop that made me ... drumming :D
everybody who havent done it, listen to HOME at loudest in your car!!!!

Scenes is the first progalbum I bought, a lifechanger. It meant the world to me then, but I don't really listen to it anymore  . Easily in their top 3 though. How can you top this? Well starting in the same year: how about Flower Power ;)
