Third album from Hasse Fröberg & The Musical Companion!

Postby The Letter M » 22 Dec 2014, 21:17

Just read from a fan on FB that there's a new one coming out in 2015. After some snooping around on the band's FB page, it looks like there WILL be a third album, simply titled HFMC, and will be out sometime next year, March or later (as they missed the deadline to release by their originally planned release date of February 13th).

Burning Shed just put up their Pre-order page for the new HFMC album:

Image
The third studio release from Hasse Froberg (Flower Kings) and his band Musical Companion combines complex Rock energy, strong vocal melodies and majestic Symphonic grandeur.

Containing three 10 minute plus epics and instrumental dexterity galore, HFMC finds Froberg and his band delivering a confident and powerful statement on their Glassville Records debut.

Presented in a three panel digipak.

Pre-order for March 9th release at the special pre-order price of £9.99 GBP.
tracks
1. Seconds (1:47)
2. Can't stop the clock (7:22)
3. Everything can change (5:13)
4. Pages (15:23)
5. Genius (5:48)
6. In the warmth of the evening (10:42)
7. Something worth dying for (5:31)
8. Someone else's fault (10:14)
9. Minutes (1:08)

Total length comes to 63:08, a few minutes over an hour! Not bad! I wasn't expecting it so soon! I though this would be closer to summer, but it's nice to see it coming out in early March! Anyone else looking forward to this one??

Got it in with Barracuda Triangle and the last Kaipa album. HFMC lives up to the first two albums and offers some great jams and rocks out hard! Lots of great stuff on here, and it fills the void for not having any TFK album out last year/this year.

Also, is it just pure coincidence that all three of their albums have 9 tracks each?

Mine arrived yesterday. Only played it once so far but it's excellent. If you've got the first two albums then you pretty much know what to expect, a mixture of hard rock, fast rhythms and solos, interspersed with quite beautiful slow melodies and atmospheres. Hasse's on top of his game again. Great stuff! 8-)

I've been listening to it 4-5 times... and it's a very good album!!

My favorite tracks are:
04. Pages 15:22
06. In the Warmth of the Evening 10:42

Very entertaining tracks:
03. Everything Can Change 5:15
07. Something Worth Dying For 5:32

And the other tracks are nice too...

The production is top-notch (much better than the previous albums).

The playing is fantastic! Guitar solos and keyboard solos are impressive, and always melodic.

The compositions are well written, there's always an element of surprise here and there.

This album is very fun to listen to. I don't get tired of it!

Long live to HFMC!! :)

Latest news (today) regarding the DVD recorded live by HFMC at the concert given at Reginateatern in Uppsala, Sweden, last 24th of April 2016:

"I'm just waiting for the mastering and then it will take about 3 weeks to get the package printed (1 DVD, 2 CD:s booklet) ready. So I'd say probably a release late April/early May. By the way, I 'm pretty happy with it myself. In case you're interrested you'll be able to order it through our official website (the shop will be up soon) or Burning Shed. Take care".

So you know, patience.

You can also wonder how a possible 'new' TFK album might have sounded if/when some of the Jonas and Hasse tracks had ended up in a 'flowerized' version
on a regular TFK release... All 'n all i think we'd ended up with much better albums than Banks of Eden and/or Desolation Rose... 8-) :?:

Latest news (today):

"Well Carlos you're not the only one who's wondering. By now the menu is working and tonight me and HFMC manager Johnny will take a look at DVD master nr:6 (the CD:s and the layout has been at the printing company in The Netherlands since the middle of March). It's truly been a weird ride but now I hope the DVD works the way it should. All this of course leads to a release in the early autumn since we can't release it in the middle of the summer. Sorry about that but that's the way it is unfortunately."

More patience... :(
