Technical problems with the forum?

Postby projeKct » 30 Jul 2015, 16:33

Recently, I've received several "complaints" about the forum, such as "cannot login", "frozen page", "freeforums.org not responding" or "phishing attack".

I want to know if you're experiencing such problems. So I would like that anyone reading this message reply below "YES" or "NO" and then elaborate a bit.

(Hoping that those who have problems can reply!) :?

We will try to solve these issues.

Thanks!

well, yes ... always :D
i think its the flash commercial. So you dont have problems if you write a post.
Dont know if top, down and between field is affected or just the primary on the top "welcome" field.
And no, its not always, i think it depends on the commercial as there are more then one playing.
Thats also why sometimes its more and sometimes it works fine.

Here is a message from our dear friend Symfoon needing help.

(I have to post this for him, because he can't even log in!! :?

Symfoon wrote:well i've tried again to get in contact with you guys via the forum but unfortunately it just doesn't seem to work for
me.

Keep facing these same problems that as already mailed to you earlier - as soon as i click on 'forum' via the official TFK website this page seem to 'freeze' and i am not able to 'click' on any of the topics - they simply don't seem to work/open.

After a while i'm always getting this same message - "freeforms.org is not responding" and after that
i get the message ' searching for solution/repair' but this
usually ends up with just 'refreshing of the page' and after
that it's 99 out of a 100 times it's the same hassle again

As said as per your advise i've tried Chrome instead of IE but then i got the reply that freeforms.org is blocked because of possible 'phishing attacks'.

So for me 2015 a.d. paying a visit to 'The Garden Of Dreams'
has more or less turned into paying a visit to 'Cyberspace Hell' ;))

As told you at work i use a HP Desktop System running on Windows 7 and at home i am now using my new Lenovo G70-70 running on Windows 8.1 but with both it's almost impossible these days to get in contact with my fellow TFK friends at The Garden Of Dreams...

Best regards,

Tony

p.s.

Ofcourse i will keep trying to get in touch with you guys!! :)

Anyone one else with this problem?
Any suggestions for a solution?

I have bookmarked the forum and most of the time it works just fine for me, especially in Google Chrome. If I use Internet Explorer, I do occasionally stumble upon the 'frozen' first page and the 'freeforms.org is not responding' message, but refreshing the page usually helps. Sometimes I may have to do that twice, or - on rare occasions - even three times, but still my failure rate is nowhere near poor Symfoon's figures. At work (where I NEVER even contemplate at entering any music forum, let alone this one, which I thought best to mention, in case my boss chanced upon this site and read this) I would most likely access via the Flower Kings website and get the non-responding opening page almost every time, but again the simple trick of refreshing would normally do away with the problem (this is, of course, purely theoretical speculation, since - like I said - in real life I would never do anything like this).

bit late .... problem solved???

i guess its a browser issue and some script (mostly flash) will not be supported, so it freezes.
I always go over the TFK main page forum link. And i never have a problem.

Thanks for the feedback, wowie.

Well, I don't have much problem either...

Hopefully, Symfoon will be back soon!

No, it's not just you - it's me, too... (and the rest of us, I would imagine).

I've received the following error message a couple of times recently when trying to post -

SQL ERROR [ mysql4 ]

MySQL server has gone away [2006]

An SQL error occurred while fetching this page. Please contact the Board Administrator if this problem persists.

Think there might be a glitch in my system. The last couple of days I've had to sign in each time I come on this site, where usually I'm automatically logged in. Also, each page is taking an age to load. I thought it was just me.

Yes, this forum has truly been acting very funny as of late...
I would have deleted those extra posts above, but for some reason the 'delete post' option was not available at all on the edit window.

I can say I've had similar problems for the last few days, but right now the forum is working absolutely great for me: fast, responsive, as good as new! I hope it will last... as I don't have any clue about the recent glitches!! :?

It's certainly improved again. Can't say it's super fast, but I don't have to keep logging in any more. Seems back to normal for me. ;)
